This "heat wave" has spread quickly to cinema screens as well. "Sino-South Korea cooperation" has become Chinese movie industry's big project. Being the the first to be involved in this project is the movie "Scent" which will be screened on August 15. Besides having Park Si Hoo, the Korean "Gentleman", as the lead actor, there is China's fashionista IT girl, Chen Ran's debut as the lead actress, who also generates much attention.
Chen Ran, with a nickname "Brother Ran", has a boisterous personality and when she smiles, her eyes turn into slits. This makes her stand out among the many gentle, feminine and fair-skinned Chinese actresses as well as showing a different kind of beauty in the eyes of others, that "sun-kissed" girl. If we turn Chen Ran's life story into a movie, it would be quite an interesting one. Born in
Xiao County, Anhui Province, as a child, she often ran with her 2 brothers in the mountains playing like a boy. As she likes to perform dancing and singing, her interest laid the foundation for her fame. In her third year of high school, Chen Ran made up her mind on what her life goal is - to enrol in Beijing Film Academy. Life is never smooth sailing though, Chen Ran with her dream had missed out on the first enrolment period. She had to travel to Beijing to join the remedial class. Be it her strong character or her fate, her hard work and talent helps her to achieve improvements in her acting skills tremendously and successfully joined Beijing Film Academy, ending up as classmate with Golden Horse Award winner, Huang Bo.
